Further down from Ben Bulben is Glencar Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall that falls in majestic glory from amidst boulders surrounded by thick foliage. It feeds into the Glencar Lough just across, which sits in serenity surrounded by lovely hills and meadows. The waterfall is quite noisy and a set of wooden steps takes visitors right up to the top and a walking path leads further across. The waterfall figures prominently in Yeats’ poetry especially in poems such as The Stolen Child and Towards Break of Day.
