Many people tend to come back after visiting Dhankar Village and monastery. A very few people know that there is a beautiful lake on the other side of the mountain and to reach there you just have to trek for around an hour. It’s a steep trail of around 3.5 km in which you climb more than 1000 feet in less than 2 hours. There are some spots on this trek from where you will get spectacular views of Dhankar Village situated on a cliff above the confluence of Pin River and Spiti River. Spread over a large area, the lake is beautiful with crystal clear water. Surroundings have vast open spaces that can make for a perfect camping site. Beyond the valley are snow-capped peaks of Himalayas and at some points in a day you get a perfect reflection of these peaks in the lake. The prayer flags on the temple near the lake add to the charm of the place.
