Egypt's Luxor has now unveiled a large tomb

Yet another Egyptian tomb gets revealed by archaeologists in Luxor’s west bank. The tomb that is rather large dates back to the 18th dynasty in Egypt’s history. According to reports, the tomb is said to be 450 sq mt in length, and contains 18 entrance gates. Archaeologists say that the tomb belonged to a nobleman called Shedsu-Djehuty, and is about 3,500 years old.
Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General, Supreme Council of Antiques said in a statement that the nobleman, Shedsu-Djehuty, was a master of seals for ancient Egyptian Kings. He was responsible for both upper and lower Egypt. The tomb was discovered back in 2018.


Workers had started renovation work on the tomb upon its discovery in 2018, and one can see colourful floor tiles, and wall paintings that depict Egyptian activities from those times, such as boat making, and hunting.
Here at Luxor’s west bank of the River NIle, there used to be the home of Kings and Pharaohs, along with noblemen. All of these people are buried here in tombs. The latest discovery adds to the list of excavated sites that have recently been unveiled in Egypt, and hopes to attract even more tourists to this old land of Kings and Pharaohs.
