I passed through Gavi in the year 2012 during a motoring tour of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary starting from a place called Angamoozhy near (Pamba). This is basically a jungle road passing right across the sanctuary to Kumily . Kumiliy is the starting point for most tourists entering the Sanctuary . Gavi is about 30 Kms from Kumily and 90 Kms from Angamoozhy. The location indeed is very beautiful and is definitely a great place for relaxation but the amenities there was limited. We could not get even a cup of tea form the restaurant and or wash rooms. the whole place appeared to be under Government control with no room for any private operators. Unless you go to this place through the government operated agencies you are unlikely to enjoy this place. If matters have changed over the last two years then this review can be out dated.Read More
