Visiting the historical port town of Levuka is like stepping back into time in Fiji, where mass tourism hasn’t yet reached. Getting here isn’t easy though. Visitors will start their journey in Suva, catch a bus and travel for a few hours along the coast until they reach the harbour. Grab the ferry and head across the ocean for 45 min before getting off and driving for another hour. Once you reach the port town though, there is plenty to do. We suggest taking the historical walking tour around the town that will introduce you to the many historical sites throughout. There is a museum to explore as well as a library and more than enough churches to photograph. Climb the 199 steps on the Niukaubi hill to get a view of the town from above or join in a local game of rugby. Locals here are friendly and the sites are incredible, so try not to miss this attraction.
