Galata Tower

Few structures stand out more prominently in the Istanbul skyline than the magnificent Galata Tower. Originally constructed in the mid-1300s, it was the tallest building town for several centuries, and still to this day reigns high over all of the neighbouring buildings on the northern shore.
Although the structure’s height is no record-setter by modern standards, there is a nice deck upstairs for visitors to enjoy the view of the city below, and as well as a restaurant for those who wish to enjoy the scenery for a longer time.

While the 360-degree view is magnificent, the admission price to the viewing deck has increased repeatedly over the years, as have the queues. If you are on a time or budget restraint, this might be one destination to think twice about.
Expert Advice: Visit early. The Galata Tower opens at 9am but the afternoon queues grow quickly and by evening it is overflowing. Check the weather before you go!
