Once the royal mansion of Maharaja Sir Ganga Singh of Bikaner, Gajner Palace is a grand structure. It tells a lot about the affluence of the rulers of this land. Due to its location off the city limits, it is a quiet and charming place that radiates both glory and old world charm. The red sandstone construction is located in the thick forest and one can spot flocks of wandering birds around the area. The fact that it is built next to a lake, adds more beauty to it. The grand citadel is separated into four sections – Dungar Niwas, Mandir Chowk, Gulab Niwas and Champa Niwas. Each wing is thoroughly planned and equally well-maintained. The distinguishing design of the terraces, creatively planned balconies and the fashionable interiors make the palace look very gorgeous. While at Gajner Palace, a traveller has the chance to enjoy nature walks, boating and desert safaris.
