As history has it, the Mughals built this fort when they decided to shift their capital from Tughlakabad to Firozabad because of a shortage of water in that region. This fort, built along the Yamuna river, was believed to solve the water crisis. Madrasas, palaces, beautiful gardens, and mosques were built inside the fort, which served as the symbol of reign for the third ruler of Tughlaqabad dynasty.
People believe that the fort is home to djinns and those, who harness such beliefs, visit this fort to seek blessings and solutions to their issues.
