The city of Edmonton loves its pyramids and Muttart Conservatory is a collection of towering pyramid shaped buildings that somewhat define the city’s skyline. There are four pyramids with each offering different displays, including one that keeps rotating its display several times a year. The conservatory is perfect to visit during any season, whether you need a break from the sun in the summer or a respite from the cold waves during winter. Explore the Arid Pyramid where you can find plants from both cold and hot deserts from around the world or the Temperate Pyramid where five major environments from around the world are represented through the plants on display. The Tropical Pyramid is perhaps the favourite in the wintertime as it is here where you will be transported to a lush rainforest and tropical grassland. Finally, the Feature Pyramid is the one that changes its display depending on the season and includes exhibits with different themes such as prehistoric, butterfly and holiday during Christmas season. Though tours are organised on weekend and Wednesday, visitors can take a self-guided tour throughout the week.
