- Pollachi can get very hot so it is better to carry appropriate sun guards.
- Likewise the monsoons can be harsh, so make sure you have an umbrella handy.
- Dress conservatively as this is a small town. Entry to temples may become an issue if not dressed conservatively.
- Make sure not to litter the surroundings as this has a tendency to disturb the natural environs.
- Get chatty with the locals as they will let you into the many secrets of the place. In fact, Pollachi is also a major centre where cattle are traded. I also found out that this place is famous for Jaggery trade!
- Buy local produce especially tea which is grown locally and is as fresh as it can get.
