A short drive from the town centre, Eravikulam National Park is perfect for anyone into wildlife and nature. It is spread across 97 square km and has for its star attraction, Anamudi (2695 m), the highest peak in Western Ghats. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including the likes of Nilgiri tahrs, golden jackals, leopards, tigers, stripe-necked mongoose, Nilgiri martens and more. It is quite famous for more than 100 species of butterflies that inhabit it. Other than the flora and fauna, this part is much-loved for a number of treks inside. Visit it for some interesting insights into the wilderness of Western Ghats.
