Netting fishes in a serene bay – fishing is permitted and a popular sport in Costa Rica. The very long Pacific coast permits vast opportunities to spend a weekend fishing. The best way to go about is to find and book a tour online. The tours mostly cover pick up and drop from your hotel or residence, the boat and fishing line, snacks and something to drink at the sea. The tour boats will also take care of wind, directions, general navigation, and life jackets. But if you know how to steer a boat, and want to go on a private fishing trip, you can inquire about hiring a boat for yourself as well. Besides the Bahai Drake, or Drake Bay, you can venture into the deep waters for fishing at Tamarindo, Puerto Jimenez, the back waters of Cano Negro and Zancudo. The Costa Ricans take their mantra of 'Pure Life' really seriously. Quite often for sport fishing, the 'catch and release' rule is followed.
