Starting December 7, 2018, Wow Air, Iceland's budget transatlantic air carrier, will begin its direct flight service to link Delhi and Reykjavik.
According to news reports, the Ambassador of Iceland to India, Thorir Ibsen, spoke at an event held in Delhi recently. He said that tourism is a major area of focus for Iceland, and the headcount of Indian nationals landing in Iceland is on the rise. So, apparently, the country wants to support the positive development by providing a direct link to Indians to visit Iceland.
The direct flight facility will be provided by Wow Air, a budget carrier connecting the US, and European countries.
"There will be five flights a week. The flight time between Delhi and Reykjavik would be 11 hours," said Ibsen.
According to news reports, the airline had an introductory basic ticket fare of INR 13,499 to the Keflavik airport in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, and from Reykjavik to cities across North America and Europe.
The airline will offer the ‘Wow Basic’ scheme which would include the taxes in its one-way ticket price. However, there will be separate charges for the in-flight meal, and check-in baggage.
