Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently announced that the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)-Chunabhatti Connector is now open for public use. Referring to this, he stated that this will help Mumbaikars save 30 minutes of their travel time and avoid traffic congestion at the Dharavi and Sion junctions. Read less
Reports also state that trucks and trailers have also been barred from using the bridge, although BEST (Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport) and other tourist buses are allowed.
However, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Madhukar Pandey has informed that the decision to allow entry of autos and bikes will be taken in due course of time.
