Mumbai’s Dadar Beach is once again visitable, thanks to Malhar, a resident of Dadar. Malhar started cleaning the Dadar beach back in September 2017, along with his friends, and it soon turned into a community work that involved more than 20000 Mumbai residents.
The beach
Dadar Chowpatty Beach in the city, until recently, had transformed into a garbage dumping place, and was not really a much sought-after beach destination in the city. Neglect over the years had caused it to fall on hard times. Also, shacks and eateries are missing from the beach, and so visitors are not easily interested to come to the beach. Even though the government did try to clean and beautify the place, it was a constant challenge. Now, with Malhar and gang ridding the beach of all the waste material, people are more likely to be interested in visiting it.
