Chhattisgarh government is planning to develop tourist spots in Surguja forest. It needs to be noted that the state government is also developing Bastar region by creating an ‘eco-ethnic’ tourist destination near the famous Chitrakoot waterfalls.

Reportedly, during the ‘Incredible India Tourism Investors’ Summit (IITIS)-2016,’ organised by the tourism ministry in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry and Tourism Finance Corporation of India, the state exchanged MoUs worth INR 12 crore to create world-class tourist facilities. The aim for the said exchange was to boost investments in tourism sector in the country.
Chhattisgarh is among the two other states that sent a proposal for its theme-based Swadesh Darshan to the Union Ministry of Tourism last year for developing the infrastructure of eco-tourism in the state.
Also, as the state is blessed with 80% bio-diversity and tops in natural tourism with 11 wildlife sanctuaries, 3 national parks, abundant caves, and more than 30 waterfalls, the CTB plans to boost tourism in the state at an international level through its well-planned and ambitious future plans.
