Spread across 843 acres, Manhattan’s green oasis offers a pleasant contrast to all the concrete high-rises around it. The park’s verdant green stretches are dotted with picturesque lakes, fountains, ponds, bridges, sculptures, monuments and even a zoo. To see the park in a short time, hire an electric rickshaw or take a free guided tour organised by the Central Park Conservancy. You can also simply picnic or sunbathe on the 14 acre grassy sprawl known as the Great Lawn. While the Central Park Zoo is popular with kids, Strawberry Fields, a mosaic memorial to John Lennon, is always swarming with Beatles fans and music lovers.
