An inner-city conservation, Castlefield is known as an “urban heritage park.” This is a beautiful place for visitors to explore, and walk along the old canals with Victorian houses dotted beside it. Here visitors can also see a reconstructed Roman Fort, and the Bridgewater Canal which was constructed in 1761. Originally the canal was built to transport coal from Worsley mines to Manchester. One of the best things one can do here is to take the Bridgewater tour boat to sail along the canal and enjoy the sights you also have other attractions such as the Castlefield Art Gallery, and the Bridgewater Hall where you can watch concerts.
