Located 165 km West of Mysore in Coorg district near Madikeri, Talacauvery is considered to be the birth place of the river Cauvery and a sacred place especially for Kodavas and for the people of Karnataka in general. Situated on top of the Brahmagiri hill in Madikeri district of Karnataka, the river is known to rise as a fountainhead around Tulasankramana (around October) each other. Read less

Located 165 km West of Mysore in Coorg district near Madikeri, Talacauvery is considered to be the birth place of the river Cauvery and a sacred place especially for Kodavas and for the people of Karnataka in general. Situated on top of the Brahmagiri hill in Madikeri district of Karnataka, the river is known to rise as a fountainhead around Tulasankramana (around October) each other. People gather in droves to have a dip in the hold waters and special pujas are done during the period. Located at nearly 4200 feet, the views around Talacauvery are more than just breathtaking. There are many trekking routes and viewing points from where you can see a wide vista of hills and valleys covered with lush greenery and clouds swooping in and clearing out.
