Thanks to the alarming levels of Delhi smog, Delhiās airport has reportedly closed one of its runways for three days. Since Runway 29, which has been closed due to the increased pollution levels in Delhi, is the longest one at the Delhi airport, it is likely to create a major impact on the travel plans and itineraries of tourists coming to Delhi, and that too at a time when it is the peak tourist season for destinations in and around the national capital.
In fact, data shared by a leading tour operator company has revealed that the airfares of evening flights to Delhi from Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad for November 8 and 9 are priced at anywhere between INR 20,000ā25,000.

This is the time of the year when usually tourists from all parts of the country plan trips to Delhi and destinations around like Shimla, Manali, and places in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In fact, Delhiites also like to go on road trips to nearby destinations like Agra and Jaipur around this time. But the smog has affected travel plans to an extent that people are even cancelling their weekend drives to these destinations.
All we are hoping now is that the pollution level in Delhi comes down and we start breathing fresh air, and of course, carry out our travel plans.
