Reports are coming in that the Mumbai airport runway is going through some major repair work, which means flight schedules are set to get affected. Mumbai’s Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will not be operating flights between 11 AM and 5 PM on three days every week. The days have been stated to be Thursdays, Saturdays, and Tuesdays. This will be in effect from February 3, 2019, until March 30, 2019.
Airline companies including Jet Airways and Vistara have announced a list of flights that have been cancelled due to the repairs.
The result
Experts are now saying that the cancellation of flights three days every week is going to cause flight fares to surge by up to 30 per cent. This is going to be especially true for the very busy Delhi-Mumbai air route. It is advised to plan your travels well in advance in order to avoid the high fares.
