Weather update: Snow, rain and hailstones showers in Uttarakhand

The upper reaches of Uttarakhand experienced snowfall, rain and hail storms on Tuesday, April 21. On the other hand, though it did not rain in many plain areas in the state, the weather, nonetheless, remained cloudy. On Monday, the strong wind storm in Dehradun’s Defence Colony uprooted several trees, thereby incurring a loss of property in the area.
Reportedly, it has snowed in the high altitude regions of Chamoli district including Badrinath Dham, Ghangharia, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Rudranath. The lower regions of Pokhari, Narayanbagad, Dasholi, Ghat, Tharali and Dewal have received rain and hailstone showers, which has destroyed the wheat crops in farm lands. Since the last few days, the weather changes after every noon, resulting in rainfall and hailstone showers.

According to the news reports, strong winds and rainfall was also experienced in the Yamunotri valley today.
Meanwhile, the Kumaon region is under the influence of cloudy weather and sunshine these days. Thunder, rail and hailstone showers were experienced in the beautiful Dwarahat hill station near Ranikhet today. It had rained in Bageshwar as well.

According to the weather department, some areas of Kumaon may also receive rainfall.
