Visit Barot if you have been scouring for a “do-nothing” place near Mcleodganj/Dharamsala. An idyllic hill town, it lies at a drive of around three hours from Mcleodganj. Barot is hidden deep in dense cedar forest, often taking visitors by its surprisingly serene location. This charming place is lined with terrace fields and will bowl you over with the calm spread here. Only to be broken by the gushing sounds of some waterfall nearby. A lot of trekking trails in the pine forest, angling spots along Uhl river and a trout farm are some other highlights of Barot. Charming grins of the village people will, of course, woo your heart.
