Uttrala is a small hamlet located around 11 km north of Baijnath. On the way from Palampur to Baijnath, there is a road that branches off at Paprola and takes you to this hamlet. It’s a rough road that passes through small villages and green fields. You can visit this place just to experience nature in its raw form or if you are a trekking enthusiast, you can trek from Uttrala to Gdoh village. Parai village is the first destination of this trail that offers panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and the Dhauladhar range. Cross Jalsu Pass (3600 m), one of the lowest passes in Dhauladhars, to reach Yara that has a vast expanse of lush meadows. A downhill trek leads you to Sarai village that is known for plants with medicinal properties. From Sarai, a 12 km trek takes you to Gdoh village.
