A gorgeous beach not far from Alghero, in the north west of Sardinia, Argentiera can be reached by car (no public transportation), but not many people know of it so it never gets too crowded. The sand is fine and of a dark grey colour. The water is incredibly clean and clear, and there are no services on the beach – no kiosk or place to rent umbrellas and sun beds. But there is an old mining village right behind it that can be explored, and a tiny charming village. On windy days, the current is very strong and waves can reach 3 m and more, so do check the wind and sea conditions before going.
