Spread across an area of around 13 km, Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake built by Anaji Chauhan who was the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan. Spreading over 13 kilometers, the lake was built between 1135 and 1150 AD. The local populace helped in constructing the catchments of the lake. Near the lake, close by a hill, there is a circuit house that earlier served as a British Residency. There is also an island in the centre of the lake that is very easily accessible by boat. A lot of locals and tourists visit this lake during evening. Sun going down in the lake during the evening makes for an amazing sight to watch.
