In a definite step towards sustainable travel, all the touristy places in Wayanad will be turning plastic-free in the near future. Wayanad District Collector AR Ajayakumar convened a meeting of a task force, Haritha Keralam Mission, to address the issue of plastic use and declare all tourist spots in the district plastic-free. Read less
It was also decided in the meeting that two district-level workshops will also be organised on January 21 and 27 in an effort to restore 16 rivulets in the district. Thereafter, another workshop will be organised in the first week of February titled, ‘Jala Sangamam’.
With this latest development, it is expected that this move will definitely work in favour of Wayanad’s ecology and pave a path for responsible tourism.
