A peek inside the first ‘Dog Park’ of India in Hyderabad

If you are a dog lover, this news is definitely going to cheer you up! India is all set to get its first official dog park in Kondapur region of Hyderabad. This first-ever ‘Dog Park’, as it is named, comes equipped with all amenities that are required to make your furry friend happy with joy.

About the Dog Park
The Dog Park in Hyderabad has been built by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on what once used to be a ‘dumping site.’ All credit goes to Harichandana Dasari, a dog lover and a Zonal Commissioner of GHMC, who was totally inspired by the foreign concept of ‘pet parks,’ and decided to convert the dumping ground into a park where one can take their dogs for a walk or for some exercise. After the proposal was passed, a number of pet consultants and landscape designers were consulted for the project. Spread across 1.3 acres, the park is certified by Kennel Club of India. It took nearly one year and roughly INR 1.1 crore to complete the construction of the park.
Facilities


Being one-of-a-kind dog park in the country, various facilities would be provided inside the park to make your little friend happy. There are training centres where your dogs can receive basic trainings from a professional trainer, splash pools where dogs can have some fun pool time, green lawns, vet centre, loo cafe, and amphitheatres, and also an enclosure for big and small dogs. Here your dogs can just play and relax with their fellow dog mates. There will be trainers, doctors and, along with all this, free vaccination will also be given to the pets.
Cat corner coming soon


The GMHC is also planning to come up with a cat corner pretty soon in the city. All these pet parks are being constructed keeping international standards in mind. Isn’t that amazing?
