The UP Government has announced to build airport in cities like Moradabad, Bareilly and Azamgarh in a move to promote tourism in the region. In order to revive the tourism sector in Uttar Pradesh and make it top notch, the state government is devising strategies to accomplish the purpose.
Reportedly, Rita Bahuguna, UP Tourism Minister, told the press that the government has speed up the process of building world-class infrastructure in the coming two years.
Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in India known for its cities like Ayodhya, Varanasi, Allahabad (Prayag), Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut, Kannauj and Jhansi. However, there are many towns and cities that are steeped in tradition and history, yet not touristy enough due to average infrastructure and development. Noida is UP’s most developed city that shares border with Delhi. With UP Government planning to up the tourism standards, more development is in store in the state.
