A Dutch art museum is going above and beyond to give you a very different experience of art. The museum, Mauritshuis in The Hague is combining visual experience with the sense of smell so as to give visitors a better understanding of the artwork. The exhibition is called Smell the Art: Fleeting - Scents in Colour, dispensing smell for visitors who come to look at 17th century Dutch paintings. All you have to do is push a pedal, and you can get a whole different experience.
The exhibition that is due to open soon will run up until August 29. It is certainly a one of a kind art experience. The interesting bit about this exhibition is that the smell is not always a pleasant one, and can often be foul or unpleasant. So, if you ever wondered what a painting smells like, then this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you.
