The 92 flights that have been cancelled include some on busy routes including Mumbai-Delhi, Delhi-Hyderabad, Delhi-Kolkata, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Hyderabad-Bengaluru and Chennai-Delhi. Several Air India flights have been cancelled on other routes as well including Chennai-Mumbai, Kolkata-Guwahati, Mumbai-Bhopal, Chennai-Bengaluru, Kolkata-Dibrugarh, Kolkata-Imphal, Imphal-Aizwal and Kolkata-Agartala.
It further mentioned that in case a person requires change of routing, only the re-routing charges will be waived but the applicable difference of fare will be charged. These changes can be done through the Air India call centre, AI booking offices and Authorised AI Travel agents only.
In a relate news, after being hit by the disastrous Cyclone Amphan, Kolkata airport is now ready to resume operations from May 28. However, there will be a limited number of flights (only 10 arrivals and 10 departures everyday).
Bagdogra airport too has permitted 10 departures and 10 arrivals on a daily basis from May 28, while Chennai airport has restricted the number to just 25 arrivals. Similarly, Mumbai airport (Maharashtra is among the worst hit states by the Coronavirus in the country) has also allowed only 25 departures and 25 arrivals daily.
