While launching the Smart City Scheme, the government earlier announced that all the state capitals and headquarters of Union Territories will get the smart city tag.
The big booster package that the region will benefit from will, however, come from the government’s flagship schemes, such as skill development programmes, self-help group reach ability, rural road connectivity, affordable housing for everyone, and Smart City programme.
