Without the Grand Canyon, this list would not be complete. One of the most recognisable landmarks in the world is this breathtaking canyon, which was sculpted over millions of years by the Colorado River. There are numerous accessible viewpoints and visitor centres. While the South Rim is the most visited location, the less busy North Rim offers breathtaking views. For the more daring, think of rafting the Colorado River or trekking the Bright Angel Trail down into the canyon.

Yosemite National Park
This place is famous for imposing granite cliffs, such as the famous Half Dome and El Capitan. Tucked away in California's Sierra Nevada highlands, it shouldn't come as a surprise why it's a favourite among hikers and photographers. Its verdant meadows, cascading waterfalls, and enormous sequoia trees, make it a popular tourist destination. Do note, every Yosemite visitor must take the Mist Trail, which leads to Vernal and Nevada Fall
Zion National Park
Zion’s stunning red rock canyons and high sandstone cliffs make it one of the most visually striking parks in the U.S. Its popular Narrows Trail involves wading through the Virgin River surrounded by sheer canyon walls. For thrill-seekers, the Angels Landing hike offers a challenging climb and breathtaking views. Zion is relatively compact, so visitors can experience much of its beauty in a short time, making it a perfect addition to a Southwest road trip.
Acadia National ParkOn the East Coast, Acadia National Park provides a different kind of charm with rugged Atlantic coastlines, granite peaks, and beautiful forests. Cadillac Mountain, the tallest point on the East Coast, offers panoramic views of the Atlantic, especially spectacular at sunrise. The park also features picturesque lakes and a network of historic carriage roads ideal for biking and hiking. Autumn is a particularly beautiful time to visit, with the vibrant fall colours adding a new layer to Acadia’s charm.
