The Polish capital, also called the ‘Phoenix City’ for its ability to rebuild itself after war and destruction, is young and cosmopolitan but it is the Old Town that is the epicentre. There are several places to visit in Warsaw Old Town that attract innumerable tourists to the oldest part of the capital city. Reconstructed after World War II almost exactly like it was before, the Royal Route boasts of palaces, churches and ancient structures, and leads to the Castle Square, which is visible for miles. Cobbled streets and narrow pathways lead to tucked away squares that are home to mystical sights such as the Wishing Bell and Mermaid of Warsaw—the city’s protector.
