Once you’re done exploring the designer shops, restaurants and bars situated in the nooks and crannies of the Hauz Khas Village market, venture just beyond and through an old iron gate to be transported into another era. This area is interspersed with the medieval Tughlaq monuments, including a mosque, a madrassa or Islamic seminary and the tomb of the 14th-century ruler of Delhi, Feroz Shah Tuqlaq. The area gets its name from the pretty water reservoir at the centre, which was built by the Delhi sultan Alauddin Khilji in the 13th century and later restored by Feroz Shah Tughlaq. This is where you can put your camera to good use.
