This Church in Cuncolim, known as Nossa Senhora da Saude in Portuguese, was constructed by friars in the 17th century CE and has a unique design with two wings. While a monk or a nun commits to a particular place, friars move around and rely on donations or other kind of support while preaching in or evangelization of poor communities. Since the church is co-located in the same compound as a school and a college, just behind Cuncolim's Municipal Hall, you may see an assembly of kids in progress during school hours. The church celebrates its annual day of feast on 17th February. Given its two wings at right angle to each other, this church has two facades facing different directions. Relatively speaking, the facades are simple but the interiors and especially the reredo, the decoration behind the altar, is intricately designed.
