Strong coffee, satisfying food and striking art

Noteworthy for: The cafe is decorated with artwork by Misa Verbeek, a Czech-born artist and tattooist who has lived and exhibited in Chicago since 2000.

The cheerful Iguana Cafe (also a fully licensed bar) is centrally located near the Grand CTA blue-line station, just west of the Loop, making it an ideal place to put your feet up after a day of walking, get an early drink to start your night off, or grab a bite to eat in a relaxed yet classy setting.

The cafe’s ample menu has a Mediterranean influence, thanks to its Greek origins – this is almost Greektown, after all - so expect hummus and spicy tirokafteri, baked goat cheese, bruschetta and pizza, in addition to a full range of sandwiches. They make a mean crepe, too.
