If you don’t know what kind of mood you’re in and want to do some bar hopping, the Nimmanhaemin neighbourhood is one of the best places to go. With a large collection of bars and cafes not only on the main road but tucked into the little side streets as well, you’re sure to find a great place to sit and relax. A good area to start is Think Park on the corner of Nimmanhaemin Road and Huay Kaew Road. The outdoor lifestyle mall is home to a number of small cafes and bars, several hosting live bands in the evening. Most of the places have indoor and outdoor seating and are popular with the students set since the property is close to Chiang Mai University. Before checking out the bar scene, make sure to check out the range of creative shops and boutiques also found within the park. The complex was built to support local artisans and small business owners and the result is an eclectic array of offerings. There are also plenty of places to grab a nibble when you get peckish after a couple cocktails serving everything from traditional Thai-style salads to fusion sushi rolls.
