Set in a charming white house just inside Chiang Mai’s Old City, Ginger & Kafe has a colorful, quirky atmosphere that is both stylish and inviting. The restaurant serves contemporary Thai cuisine that tantalizes the taste buds and (almost) looks too pretty to eat – it’s all perfectly plated and just asking to be photographed! Try the khao soi, a Chiang Mai specialty of creamy curry poured over yellow eggs noodles, the restaurant’s signature roasted pork ribs simmered in tamarind sauce, or stir fried asparagus with prawns and shitake mushrooms. For those wishing for something different, diners can also choose from several Western and fusion dishes, such as a meze platter, smoked chicken pita or pan-fried sea bass with Parma ham.

The eclectic restaurant is filled with interesting décor and is connected to several shops specializing in men and women’s fashion and accessories as well as kitchenware. You can even purchase some of the establishment’s home-made pickles, chutneys, compotes and sauces, like pickled Asian mushrooms and smoke tomato chipotle chili sauce, for your friends and family back at home. Additionally, the property also is home to a unique gallery/art shop that sells some incredible modern and antique finds from around the world.
