Popular tourist sites include the ruins of the Cesis Castle and the 13th century St John’s Church. Located in front of St John’s is the Square of Roses which looks lovely during the summer season. The Livu Square appears beautiful at night, when its fountain is illuminated by brightly coloured lights.
