Frites in a cone - the cheapest and tastiest snack in Brussels

Word to the wise: Rather than eating your frites al fresco take them to one of the square's bars and enjoy them with a beer - just check for a 'happy cone' logo.

Belgians take their frites very seriously and Maison Antoine offers some of the best in Brussels. Expect to see a long queue at the kiosk in the centre of Place Jourdan but don't let that put you off - the double-cooked frites are well worth the wait.

Choose between a small or large cone and then decide which of the 27 sauces you want to accompany them. Flavours include curry, samurai and the traditional favourite, mayonnaise.
