Among several interesting places to visit in Bhubaneshwar, The Regional Museum of Natural History holds a special place. The museum, located in proximity to Acharaya Vihar Square on Sachivalaya Marg, was inaugurated in the year 2004 and is a part of Ministry of Environment and Forests. Here in this museum you will see exhibits on plants and animals from various parts of country. One of the prime highlights of this place is the skeleton of baleen whale, which is considered to be largest for any Indian museums. Visited largely by nature enthusiasts and kids, it is best place to learn new things about the flora and fauna and geology of most part of the country. Moreover, it also organises extracurricular activities for school kids in order to promote awareness regarding environment.
