Nilssen Bryggen is one of the oldest shops at Bryggen in Bergen, located on the pier, next to Hanseatic Museum. The store has remained at the same location since 1923. The store is also known as the House of Yarn. They offer a broad range of option from embroidery, knitwear, wool, textiles and a few souvenirs. In fact, they claim to have one of the largest embroidery divisions in Europe. A finished hand-embroidered Christmas product is their specialty. Their textile department is known to have the best traditional and modern knitting from some of the best European manufacturers including Dale of Norway. Hence, if you are hunting for a traditional Norwegian sweater, head to this store, and you won’t regret.
