The smarter side of Barcelona's nightlife

Word to the wise: Guests need to have an entry pass or to be on the guest list to get into Shoko, so pick up a pass at the restaurant during the day.

It might be slightly too blinging for some, but this Asian themed club and lounge by the Port Olimpic is certainly popular with a happy, well-groomed crowd of party-goers. Hosting international DJs such as Groove Armada and Felix da Housecat, its waterside location gives it a carefree, beachy feel that makes the picky doorman (be sure to dress up) worth braving.

During the day, Shoko is a restaurant, but come midnight, the tables are cleared to leave a rather fun, camp oriental space with tasselled screens, bamboo poles and vast chandeliers well suited to posing and dancing.
