Tegallalang has just about every type of handicraft made in Bali. The numerous art and craft shops that line the road to Tegallalang offer a large assortment of unique and colourful ornaments, carvings, paintings, jewellery, accessories, Balinese curios, furniture and many other things.
Tegallalang's Pakudui Village is well known for its excellent craftsmen and is a good place to visit if you are looking for various wooden carvings and sculptures, normally consisting of mythical creatures like the Garuda, which is popular in Balinese culture.
More often you will see artists painting in the rice fields and farmers selling fresh coconuts to drink, with traditional conical hats woven from coconut leaves. Some shops have fixed prices but you can obviously put your bargaining skill to test.
