Schellingwonderpark, a city park situated in the northern part of Amsterdam was opened in January 2010. This one was conceptualised as a part of the nature project to spread awareness of the ecological relationship between the Ijmeer Lake and Waterland, and covers about 10 hectares of land. A far cry from the more crowded, bustling green spaces in Amsterdam, this one sees lesser footfall. Sprawling right by the side of a river, it is perfect for somebody with a love for long, quite walks or hours of book reading in solitude.
