After the area fell to the Mughals, the temple was destroyed completely. However, the idol of Lord Hanuman is said to have been rescued successfully and kept hidden for centuries. In the 1960s, locals took the initiative to construct this temple in marble and reinstate the idol to its rightful place. Today, Shri Bhadra Maruti Samsthanam overlooks the operation of the temple. The temple's parking area comes as a boon for the relatively narrow lanes of Khuldabad one has to navigate to get here. Expect crowds on Saturdays, as followers of Lord Hanuman throng this temple. On the way back from Ellora to Aurangabad city, make a short detour towards Khuldabad to visit this site.
