The majestic Junagarh Fort is almost synonymous to the city of Bikaner and is one of the most important tourist places in the city. Maharaja Rao Bika, on whom the city is named, is the founder of this fort who started the construction back in 1478. Though he set the ball rolling, it was during the times of Raja Rai Singh and Raja Karan Singh that the fort saw its final form. This magnanimous fort is a fine specimen of Mughal, Gujarati and Rajput style of architecture. The posh and stunning courtyards of the fort is also worthy of being mentioned.
