Immerse yourself in traditional motif and colors, in textiles that your senses respond to, and also in techniques that have captured the world’s fancy: batik, beading and knitting, embroidery. The National Textile Museum (Muzium Tekstil Negara in Bahasa Malay) besides showcasing the various pieces of clothing in Malaysia, also displays popular accessories such as headgears and jewelry.
Tips: This museum is across the street from Merdeka Square, a spot that features on the Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour. The admission to the museum is free of cost and it is open between 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM daily, except on the first days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Plan an hour to explore this site.
