Only about three kilometres from Phuket, Coral Island or Koh Hae is known all over Thailand for its vast coral reefs that are home to complex marine ecosystems. Travellers love the island not only for the golden beaches, the perfectly blue waters and the deliciously salty air but also for the many snorkeling opportunities that it offers. You could even go for a guided underwater sea walk to explore the colourful reefs and fishes that are illustrations of how beautiful our earth really is. Canoeing and scuba diving are other adventures for you to indulge in.
The most notable names on Coral Island are the Banana and Long Beach, both of which are perpetually bustling with day trippers. To that end, there is no dearth of local and international food, especially delicious seafood on the island. They are served in the many eateries dotting the place and a lot of day tours from Phuket are inclusive of lunch. If you love exploring uncharted territories, there is a bit of a jungle trail at the eastern periphery of Banana Beach. Coral Island is a mere 15 minutes by speedboat from Phuket’s Chalong. It is also possible to rent a boat from Rawai Beach.
